| The Border Guard Services of Romania and Ukraine jointly patrolled the Romanian-Ukrainian border in “Reni”, “Vylkove” and “Ismayil” within the framework of a joint operation called “Iyusgin”. In the first phase of the operation which took place 30 October 2008, the Romanian Border Guard Service deployed several officers to patrol the border using 4 Ukrainian ships. As a result 8 Romanian and 8 Ukrainian ships were inspected. The methods used in such operations are innovative and have only been used in joint patrols carried out by the Border Guard Services of Ukraine-Poland and Ukraine-Russia.
